MOTTEP of Richmond
Mottep Board
MOTTEP of Richmond (MOTTEP) currently has board advisory members. These board members have a very strong background in the minority donation and transplantation industry as well as being liaisons between our organization and the community at large. The board of MOTTEP of Richmond is currently comprised of five members.
The first board member is Raymond Partridge who is currently serving as Chair of the Board of Directors of MOTTEP. He has served as Secretary from November 2004 to April 2007. Mr. Partridge is an Associate Pastor at Faith Alive International Ministries where he is active in many outreach ministries. Reverend Partridge is an engineer at the Virginia Department of Transportation. His expertise covers scheduling, program and project management, administration, financial, contract development, research, construction, etc. He is knowledgeable of regulations and policy measures involving complex transportation projects.
The second board member is Joann Richardson, Ph.D., who is serving as the Vice-chair of the Board of Directors of MOTTEP. She is the Associate Professor at the Department of Health and Human Performance, School of Education at the Virginia Commonwealth University. She has her Doctor of Philosophy in Health Services Organization and Research. Her area of specialization is Health Program Evaluation. Ms. Richardson has been extremely instrumental in the health profession and areas of minority health on many venues.
The third board member is Adelaide Smith-Buckner, RN, who is serving as the Secretary of MOTTEP. She is employed at Mary Washington Hospital as the Assistant Director for Community programs. She is responsible for directing, coordinating and developing community health outreach projects that promote and improve community health and access to health services. She addresses healthcare disparities, facilitate health education and screening programs in the minority communities.
The fourth board member is Cynthia Beadle who is serving as an ex-officiating member of MOTTEP. She has over 25 years of service in the health services field. She is employed at the Office of Minority Health and Public Health Policy as the Minority Health Specialist. She specializes in the equity and injustices that may lead to the health disparities among minority populations. Ms. Beadle provides guidance and assistance in promoting health equity among priority populations.
Finally, Mr. Baxter C. Harrington is serving as the founder, and CEO of MOTTEP of Richmond. He is a student of the health sciences matriculating at Meharry Medical College where he focused on two areas of major interest. His first area of study was medicine with a concentration on Pediatrics. His second area of interest was Immuno-Biology, which was used to strengthen his ability to acquaint him with the challeges faced by children. After completing his courses at Meharry, Mr. Harrington served as a Medical Office in the US Army for seven years. He has taught Laboratory instrumentation for Immunology, Accelerated HP Biology, Nutrition, and Anatomy & Physiology. He has championed the field of donation and transplantation for more the 19 years. He has focused the majority of that effort in addressing the needs in the Black community and most recently other minority communities as well. The culmination of his efforts have resulted in the development of the educational program (MOTTEP of Richmond), that addresses both disease prevention and health care maintenance. MOTTEP of Richmond is the platform that affords him the opportunity to maximize his energies to best serve these minority communities. His passion for increasing access to health care can do no less than led to a revolutionary approach to our current day health care regimen. Mr. Harrington serves on various committies within the greater Richmond, VA. community. All of which address some form of health care that might someway impact the minority communities in this area. He is a dedicated Associate Pastor of a major predominantly Black church where he serves in several capacities.
